All-solid folk-style guitar! ARE-treated top, mahogany sides and back! Incorporating feedback from numerous guitarists and technicians, we’ve pursued a natural playing feel and superior playability by chamfering the fretboard edges and carefully refining the neck taper to ensure a comfortable grip even near the body joint. It’s easy to play even in the high frets, and the transition from an electric guitar feels seamless, delivering exceptional playability in a variety of settings—from live performances and recording to practice. Using Yamaha’s proprietary analysis technology, we’ve refined the bracing system, incorporating newly designed scalloped bracing on the top and bracing specifically developed for cutaway models on the back. This achieves a rich, full-bodied sound—despite the cutaway design—along with powerful resonance in the mid-to-low frequency range! The body features a cutaway and a tapered folk-style shape; it is all-solid, with Sitka spruce for the top and mahogany for the sides and back. The spruce top has been treated with our proprietary “A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement)” process. This achieves a rich, resonant tone reminiscent of a guitar that has been played for many years!! The pickup system features the newly developed “SRT2” system, a further evolution of the “SRT (Studio Response Technology)” system. While retaining the sound quality characteristics of the “SRT” system—which delivers an acoustic sound rich in ambience, as if recorded by a top-tier sound engineer in a studio—the system has been simplified by carefully selecting only essential functions, resulting in excellent playability ideal for live performances and practice sessions.
