A top-of-the-line model from the Ibanez J.Custom series, featuring a flamed maple top and DiMarzio pickups! The RG1680 was part of Ibanez’s high-end, Japanese-made J.Custom series. It features a luxurious body construction combining a flamed maple top with a mahogany back, and its sophisticated appearance—which showcases the beautiful wood grain—is another major attraction.It features a 3-piece maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard and a 24-fret RG-shaped profile, offering excellent playability. Equipped with a DiMarzio PAF Pro, Blue Velvet, and Steve’s Special pickups in an HSH configuration, it delivers a wide range of tones, from clean to high-gain. With the excellent playability provided by the Lo-Pro Edge tremolo, this guitar is packed with the meticulous attention to detail characteristic of the J.Custom series of that era. There are two areas of paint chipping near the end of the body back. There are other signs of wear, such as scratches, dents, and discoloration or rust on parts. Due to neck waviness and a raised edge, a setup including neck filing was performed; there are currently no issues with playability. The 5th-string tuner is a bit stiff, but tuning is still possible without issue.
