A fusion of modernity and experience—a new standard born of time and the era—that is the Ibanez AZ Series. ~Features~ AZ Oval C S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple Neck The fingerboard and neck are crafted from S-TECH-treated maple. The S-TECH process is a nitrogen-heating treatment for wood developed in Miyagi Prefecture, and this marks the first time it has been adopted for use in guitar construction worldwide. S-TECH WOOD is characterized by dimensional stability, resistance to warping, water resistance, and resilience to temperature changes—features for which it has been granted a patent in Japan. After numerous prototypes and tests, we concluded that a neck thickness of 20.5*22.5 (at 1F*12F) is optimal. In addition, the finish features an oil finish that gives it the texture of a well-played guitar neck.
