The RG8570Z, a classic model in the J-Custom series, was released in 2009 and remained in production until 2022. Assembled at Fujigen—one of Japan’s leading guitar manufacturing facilities—through a special production process, this popular model remained in the lineup for a remarkable 13 years, even as it underwent repeated minor specification changes within Ibanez’s top-of-the-line J-Custom series. The body features African mahogany—known for its rich mid-to-low frequency response—combined with a 4mm-thick AAA-grade flamed maple top that adds a touch of attack and sustain. It is equipped with DiMarzio The Tone Zone, True Velvet, and Air Norton pickups, as well as an Edge Zero tremolo bridge with a ZPS3 stabilizer. The “Tree of Life” position inlays—one of the hallmarks of the J-Custom design—adorn the rosewood fingerboard, and the neck back features a “Velvetouch” finish that feels as comfortable in the hand as a guitar that’s been played for many years. There are small dents accompanied by paint chips and cracks on the body back corners and near the joint screws, and the parts show some dullness and fine rust. There are overall scratches and small dents.
