From the listing
A Japan-exclusive model featuring an ebony fingerboard: the Gibson Custom '74 Les Paul Custom VOS, manufactured in 2015. A limited-edition model released in 2014 based on the Randy Rhoads model introduced in 2010, featuring a pancake-construction maple top /mahogany back, a slim 3-piece mahogany neck with a volute, a 14-degree headstock angle, a logo without the “i” dot, an ebony fingerboard, a nylon nut with unpainted sides, sombrero knobs, and Super ’74 Humbucker pickups, all finished in a VOS finish that replicates the look of aged guitar. This exceptional instrument incorporates historic specifications such as glue-in fingerboards and neck joints, as well as a tubular truss rod; it is also recommended for those seeking the smooth fingering feel of the Small D Profile neck. The original Vintage Original Spec (VOS) finish replicates the natural aging of the paint and parts; other features include picking marks, a polished sheen on the back of the neck from playing, slight neck hanger marks, and a slight paint step on the back of the 3-piece neck. It was set up upon arrival (cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave adjustment, string height adjustment, and fret leveling). The frets are at a height that poses no issues for playing, and the truss rod can be adjusted in both tightening and loosening directions; its operation has been verified up to ±60°. Condition Grade: B+: Some minor scratches, but no issues for normal use Serial Number: CS404148 Year of Manufacture: 2015 Country of Manufacture: United States Case: Hard Case Accessories: Certificate of Authenticity Weight: 4.51 kg Truss Rod: No issues; checked up to 60 degrees to the left and right with no problems Remaining Fret Life: Within normal range; fret height is sufficient for playing String Height (Low String Side): 2.0 mm at the 12th fret String Action (Treble Side): 1.5 mm at the 12th fret Nut width: 43.24 mm Neck Shape: Small D Profile Neck thickness near the 1st fret
