1995 Team Built 1954 Stratocaster Aztec Gold The two-piece ash body is finished in an elegant Aztec Gold. The neck is crafted from a single piece of birdseye maple with a flat-sawn grain. True to the '54 style, the headstock features a round string guide. The neck profile is a soft V-shape, and the fingerboard radius is 9.5. The frets are medium-jumbo, but they appear to have been filed down, they are now quite low. About 50% of the original height remains. The truss rod is tightened to about 90°, and there is plenty of play in the loosening direction, so there is still plenty of room for adjustment. Although it does not come with a certificate of authenticity, a check on the dealer’s website revealed I found that this is a 1995 model. The neck date also shows “1995,” and although the year on the body is worn away, the neck joint and neck pocket match, so I determined it to be in its original condition. There were no signs that the electronics had been replaced. The specification sheet is missing, so I couldn’t identify the pickups, but it is likely equipped with ’50s-style pickups, and its crisp sound will inspire you to play. With its luxurious looks and ’50s sound, this is a guitar you’ll definitely want to try out.
