Gibson Custom Shop Historic Collection 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue VOS Slow Iced Tea Fade -2018- A used 2018 Historic Collection 1959 Les Paul Standard has just arrived! The Historic Collection was unfortunately discontinued in 2014 with the introduction of the True Historic line. It made its long-awaited comeback in 2018 and continues to reign as a signature series of Gibson Custom to this day. It features a beautiful two-piece curly maple top (without double carving), a solid mahogany back, a solid mahogany neck, and a rosewood fingerboard, with a set-neck construction utilizing a long tenon. Refinements made in 2018 include changes to the color and shape of the truss rod cover, a slightly slimmer neck profile, and a change in the body back and neck color to “Faded Red Aniline Dye.” The headstock features the Gibson logo and Kluson Single Line/Single Ring tuners, while the bound neck—adorned with dish inlays—uses “Authentic Medium Jumbo Frets” from True Historic. It is equipped with two CustomBucker Alnico 3 potted pickups, and the 2-Vol/2-Tone/3-Way Selector control system utilizes CTS pots and Bumblebee replica capacitors. The hardware is nickel-plated and includes an ABR-1 bridge and an aluminum stop bar. The control knobs have been replaced. The finish is a “Slow Iced Tea Fade,” a sunburst with significant fading; the fade near the body end creates a truly exquisite color effect, and the back of the body shows advanced fading from the aniline dye. Overall, the guitar shows signs of use, including scratches and dents; however, it plays perfectly fine. Approximately 80% of the frets remain, and we have confirmed that the truss rod turns 60 degrees in both directions. S/N: 9 82422 Weight: 4.12 kg Accessories: Original hard case, certificate of authenticity, tags, selector switch backplate, original control knobs (some damage) Condition: B+: Some scratches, but no issues with normal use Serial Number: 9 82422 Year of Manufacture: 2018 Case: Har
