From the listing
A 12-string guitar manufactured in 1969 has arrived. Manufactured between 1961 and 1979, this model is known as Gibson’s first mass-produced 12-string acoustic guitar. This late-1960s example features a distinctive look, with a spruce top, mahogany sides and back, a square-shoulder body, and a trapeze tailpiece. It produces a crisp, articulate tone—combining the characteristic “snappy” quality of an adjustable saddle with a certain brilliance—that seems particularly well-suited to strumming styles. Because a pickup was previously installed, the endpin hole has been enlarged, and a large-diameter rosewood endpin has been fitted. Additionally, there are traces of a strap pin having been attached near the base of the neck joint on the first-string side. There are scattered dents and weather checking consistent with the instrument’s age; since some dents do not feel indented, it is possible that the instrument has been relacquered. The string action has been adjusted to a slightly lower height, and the instrument is in relatively good playing condition. Condition Grade: B+: Some scratches are present, but the instrument is suitable for normal use. Serial Number: 532088 Year of Manufacture: 1969 Country of Manufacture: United States Case: Non-original hard case (Guild) Weight: 2.37 kg Truss Rod: No issues; checked up to 60 degrees to the left and right with no problems Fret Wear: Note: While the frets can still be filed down, they are on the low side String Height (Low-String Side): 2.25 mm at the 12th fret String Action (Treble Side): 12th Fret: 1.75 mm Nut width: 51 mm * As this is a used item, there may be scratches, dents, or other imperfections that are not clearly visible in the photos or not listed here. Please be aware of this in advance. * Any measurements listed for the truss rod, remaining fret height, string action, etc., were taken by our staff during setup and are subject to change due to environmental factors such as climate and humidity
