From the listing
We have received a Gibson L-5 CES Sunburst manufactured in 1974–75. First released in 1951 as the L-5 CES—an electric model featuring a cutaway and pickups—this model has been beloved by many guitarists, particularly jazz musicians. It features high-end specifications throughout, such as a laminated binding on the body, flowerpot inlays on the headstock, block inlays, and gold hardware. The body measures 17 inches; the top is spruce, the sides and back are maple, the neck is 5-piece maple, and the fingerboard is ebony. It is equipped with “stamped numbered PAF” pickups. The knobs are covered, except for the rear tone knob. Although the date of manufacture could not be confirmed, there are no signs of replacement, so it is believed to be entirely original. The front pickup escutcheon has been replaced, and the pickguard is missing. The underside of the bridge has been shaved down to lower the string action. While there are some weather checking, scratches, and dents, considering its age, this guitar is in good condition and clearly shows it has been well cared for. Please take this opportunity to consider purchasing it. * Please note that due to the nature of this item, we are unable to transfer it between stores.
