1973 SG Standard We’ve just received an SG Standard from the transitional period between model changes, featuring a mahogany body, a 3-piece mahogany neck, a high-quality ebony fingerboard, a small pickguard, and escutcheon-mounted pickups. It is equipped with Super Humbucker pickups. These high-output pickups—known as “Tar Backs” due to their backs being filled with black resin—are characterized by a sweet, resonant tone and a wide dynamic range. Unfortunately, the original case is missing, but otherwise, the instrument retains its original condition, including the electronics. As for the nut and frets, there are some areas with a slight layer of finish, so we believe they are original. The frets are low, but players accustomed to 1970s Gibson guitars should have no trouble playing it. Considering its a
