It features forward-shifted scalloped bracing, herringbone binding, slotted diamond and square inlays, and a modified V-neck. The sound is delicate yet has solid volume. When strummed, it produces powerful bass and brilliant treble, making it ideal for vocal accompaniment and backing. When played as a lead instrument, it produces a delicate yet full-bodied sound with remarkable power. Although it is a signature model, its beautiful appearance and the perfection of its sound have earned it high praise even among non-Clapton fans. There is a step at the junction between the neck and the fingerboard, and there is noticeable paint chipping in this area.
