The L.R. Bucks Southern Jumbo with M1 Active Pickups Has Arrived! We have received a Gibson USA Southern Jumbo. It was manufactured in 2001. Since this instrument is 25 years old, it is not in like-new condition, but it is remarkably clean for a used guitar currently on the market. At the time, Gibson offered a total of 42 acoustic guitar models, but only 14 of them came equipped with pickups as standard. Since the Southern Jumbo was also produced exclusively as a non-pickup model, it was common practice to customize it after purchase. This particular guitar has been customized with a retrofitted L.R. Bucks M1 Active pickup. (Only faint traces of the logo print on the pickup’s surface remain, having faded over time.) Sonically, this type tends to produce a sound that’s closer to the natural acoustic tone than the under-saddle style. Additionally, since it’s an active system, it isn’t overly noisy, and with an extra strap button added to the neck heel, it might be ready to use right away! Key Details, Specifications, and Materials ・Body Shape: J-45 ・Body Style: Round Shoulder ・Body Top: Solid Spruce ・Body Sides & Back: Solid Mahogany ・Neck Material: Mahogany ・Fingerboard Material: Rosewood ・Fingerboard Inlay: Mother-of-pearl parallelograms ・Bridge: Traditional belly-up, rosewood ・Tuning Machines: Nickel with White Buttons Overall Condition While there are scratches, various marks, and dents resulting from age, no significant buckle marks are visible on the body or back. Due to the dark navy vintage sunburst finish, scratches tend to be more noticeable on the dark navy areas of the burst and on the neck. There is a large, prominent dent on the body top, but none are visible on the body sides, back, or neck. These are primarily play marks that were inevitable as a result of regular use; there are no signs of critical wood damage or unnecessary damage caused by rough handling. Furthermore, the inevitable signs of aging—such as clouding and dullin
