Manufactured in 2000, this model was released as part of a special series focused on environmental conservation. Born from the SmartWood project, which aims for the sustainable use of forest resources, this model features a concept distinct from the standard Les Paul Standard. Its understated Antique Natural finish is particularly appealing, showcasing the natural grain of the wood. It follows the basic structure of the Les Paul Standard, featuring a mahogany body and set-neck construction that deliver rich mid-to-low frequencies and smooth, extended sustain. You can enjoy the classic Les Paul sound, suitable for a wide range of musical genres. The truss rod cover features the SmartWood logo, adding a special touch unique to this series. With its roots in environmental conservation, this Les Paul stands out even among Gibson models from around the year 2000. The bridge pickup has been replaced with a DiMarzio DP159. To maintain visual consistency with the front pickup, the escutcheon has been replaced with a SCUD model. The escutcheon screws have also been replaced. SCUD selector switch knobs have been installed to match the color of the escutcheon. There are cracks and chips near the screw holes on the back panel. There is a linear scratch on the top of the body. There are numerous scratches on the back of the body. There are strap marks around the strap pins. Rust and verdigris are visible on the front pickup, bridge, and tailpiece, indicating severe metal deterioration. In addition, there are numerous scratches and dents overall, and other metal parts not mentioned above show signs of tarnish, indicating the instrument has seen use. The neck is warped upward on the 6th string side and slightly warped downward on the 1st string side, resulting in a twist. There are currently no issues with playability.
