Made in the illustrious FujiGen factory, Japan, comes this ergonomic and sleek tone machine: the SR5006.  This bass is as slimline as a 6-string bass gets and it looks superb. Wenge top with African mahogany back and sides, as well as a wenge and bubinga Atlas neck (reinforced by titanium) and matching headstock. Last but not least, 24-fret wenge fingerboard with pearl and Abalone position markers/  But how does it sound? Thunderous and articulate in equal measure. Passive Bartolini pickups accompany a 3-band EQ active/passive EQ and switchable mids. This is all rounded off via a Mono-rail bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, a GraphTech Black TUSQ nut and Gotoh tuning machines. In short, call off the search, because this is some serious kit that offers modern comfort with a range of contemporary and old-school tonal flavours.
