Seller's description

The 1996 Rickenbacker 360/12 V64 in Jetglo stands as a tribute to one of the most iconic electric twelve-strings ever produced. Modeled closely after the guitars made famous by George Harrison during the British Invasion era, the V64 captures both the visual elegance and the unmistakable chime that defined a generation of music. This example, finished in Rickenbacker’s deep, mirror-like Jetglo, presents beautifully despite being nearly three decades old. While it shows some light signs of use consistent with careful ownership, there is no discernible fret wear, and it benefits from a very comfortable and precise setup, making it ready for both stage and studio work. It has its original Silver Tolex hardshell case, which is also in excellent condition. Built during a period when Rickenbacker’s craftsmanship and attention to detail were at a particularly high standard, the 1996 V64 features the distinctive double-cutaway semi-hollow body, bound top and back, “slash” soundhole, and vintage-style appointments. The maple body and neck provide the bright, articulate tonal foundation that pairs so perfectly with the original-style scatterwound “toaster top” pickups. These low-output pickups deliver the signature Rickenbacker shimmer and clarity, allowing complex chords to ring out with individual note definition—a quality prized by twelve-string players. The neck profile of this period is slightly rounded yet slim enough for fast, comfortable playability, while the rosewood fingerboard, adorned with vintage-style inlays, adds both visual warmth and tonal depth. In the hands of a collector, the 360/12 V64 is a piece of musical history; in the hands of a professional musician, it is a workhorse capable of delivering timeless tones across genres. From crystalline arpeggios to lush, layered rhythm textures, this Jetglo beauty invites exploration and rewards nuance. Complete with its period-correct appointments and Rickenbacker’s unmatched build quality, this guitar offer
