D12-28 Standard (2013) – Rosewood 12-String Dreadnought – Good Condition This Martin D12-28 Standard from 2013 — also searched as Martin D1228, Martin D12 28, Martin D-12-28, used Martin D12-28, or second-hand Martin 12-string acoustic — is a classic rosewood 12-string dreadnought, combining Martin’s traditional Style 28 construction with the rich, shimmering sound of twelve strings. Built with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, the D12-28 produces a full, resonant acoustic voice with deep bass, rich harmonic overtones, warm mids and sparkling trebles. The six pairs of strings create a beautiful natural chorus effect, giving chords exceptional depth and presence. The full-size dreadnought body provides strong projection and acoustic volume, making this guitar particularly well suited to folk, rock, country, singer-songwriter accompaniment and studio recording. Its rich and expansive sound works beautifully for both rhythmic strumming and delicate arpeggios. The 24.9” short scale provides a comfortable playing feel with slightly lower string tension than a long-scale dreadnought.
