What a stunner! My Excellent ++ condition 62 Custom Telecaster lefty, s/n A070368 made in the fabled Japanese Fujigen factory in 1985/86. weighs 6.6lbs or 3kg I've never had a tele (or any other electric guitar for that matter) which weighed less. Acoustic tone is just as bright and percussive as it should be. Original 3-tone sunburst body finish is in great condition with just a couple of marks and bumps which are clearly visible in the photos. Neck and frets are pretty much mint and unmarked with no playing wear visible. All original hardware excepting the compensated brass bridge saddles which make the guitar even louder and more resonant as well as increasing sustain and improving the tuning above 12th fret. Original steel saddles, screws and springs are included with the auction. Electronics have been completely upgraded - CTS 250k log pots, USA made Switchcraft 3-way selector and output jack all wired up with cloth covered vintage spec wire. Original Japanese pots, and jack socket etc included in the auction. Pickups are a custom hand/scatterwound set by European builder Q Pickups (check them out!) - they're based on a period correct 60's style pickup with Alnico II (bridge) and Alnico V (neck) magnets but have a bit of extra juice due to them being overwound to around meaning you can get P90 style output levels which drive an amp's front end beautifully. Really handy for getting a more meaty onstage tele tone when using a bright amp! If you're looking for a more vintage, bell-like mid 60's tele tone then just flip the mini toggle switch which taps the pickups back to a vintage output range. Original Fender pickups are included in the auction. If you don't want the Q Pickups then I'll happily refit the stock ones and knock £100 off the asking price but you should buy the Q pickups as they're much much better than the stock units! An all-round lovely guitar with a great vintage playing feel and tone which can keep up with modern tones nicely thanks
