Seller's description

The Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer from 1982-1984 is one of the most iconic and sought-after overdrive pedals. Known for its creamy, smooth, and slightly mid-boosted tone, the TS9 was favoured by countless guitarists for its ability to push an amplifier into a warm overdrive while preserving the guitar’s natural character. Introduced as a successor to the original TS808, the TS9 features a nearly identical circuit but with a few subtle differences that result in a slightly edgier sound, perfect for blues, rock, and beyond. The TS9’s overdrive is often described as "transparent," meaning it enhances an amplifier's natural sound rather than masking it. When placed in front of a tube amp, it excels at pushing the amp into natural saturation, adding harmonics and sustain without overwhelming the signal with distortion. This makes it perfect for solo boosts, rhythm playing, or even as a tone-shaping tool in clean settings. The pedal’s mild, smooth drive pairs well with humbuckers and single-coils alike, providing the warmth and presence that has made it a staple in the rigs of guitar legends. While Ibanez reissued the TS9 in later years, the original models are revered for their unmatched tone and build quality.
