Finished in striking Black Aurora Burst, it combines an okoume body with a slim five-piece jatoba/walnut neck and rosewood fingerboard. A pair of Bartolini BH2 pickups feeds an extensive Ibanez active electronics package, giving you three-band EQ, selectable mid frequencies and an EQ bypass function for access to both active and passive-style sounds. What Makes the Ibanez SR505E-BAB Special? The SR505E's combination of a compact, sculpted body and slim SR5 five-piece jatoba/walnut neck gives it an exceptionally comfortable playing feel for a five-string bass. Its 34-inch scale maintains familiar bass proportions, while the 45mm nut and 16.5mm bridge string spacing help keep the extended five-string layout manageable. Its electronics are equally flexible. The Bartolini BH2 pickups provide a strong foundation, while the Ibanez Custom Electronics three-band EQ lets you shape bass, mid and treble frequencies directly from the instrument. A three-position mid-frequency switch and EQ bypass provide additional control for everything from warm traditional bass sounds to focused modern tones. Who Is It For? The SR505E-BAB is an excellent choice for players moving into five-string bass as well as experienced bassists who want a comfortable, highly adjustable instrument. Its extended low-B range and comprehensive onboard EQ make it particularly suitable for rock, metal, funk, fusion, worship, pop, studio work and contemporary styles where a broad tonal palette is useful.
