This “comfort grip” features a shape that slopes gently from the joint between the fingerboard and neck to the fingerboard edge, with the edge itself rounded. The shape is precisely and reliably reproduced through ball-milling. The neck width is set at 42 mm at the nut and 56.4 mm at the 12th fret. The shape is specifically designed to ensure a comfortable grip in the lower fret area and to facilitate classical-style playing—where the thumb rests on the back of the neck—as you move up to the higher frets. S-TECH WOOD Roasted Birdseye Maple Neck & Fretboard The neck and fretboard are crafted from S-TECH-treated birdseye maple. S-TECH-treated wood is characterized by dimensional stability, resistance to warping, water resistance, and resistance to temperature changes, and the technology is patented in Japan.
