Seller's description

A seriously vibey piece of early ‘80s Ibanez craftsmanship, this 1983 AS-80 in sunburst is everything you want from a compact semi-hollow with vintage character and real player appeal. These AM models have earned a loyal following for good reason, offering the warmth and resonance of a semi with a tighter, more focused feel that sits perfectly in a mix. Tonally, it’s got that sweet balance of clarity and warmth, with a woody low end, expressive mids, and a smooth top that never feels brittle. The original pickups deliver a dynamic, articulate voice that handles everything from clean, jazzy passages through to gritty blues and classic rock without breaking a sweat. It’s the kind of guitar that feels alive in your hands, responding effortlessly to touch and nuance. This one is all original and in excellent condition for its age. It shows the kind of honest wear you’d expect from a well-cared-for instrument that’s been played and enjoyed over the years, including a few light dings, surface marks, and some natural wear to the hardware. Nothing out of the ordinary, and nothing that takes away from its performance or visual appeal. If anything, it adds to the story. The sunburst finish has aged beautifully, giving it that understated vintage look that never goes out of style. It’s a compact, comfortable guitar that’s easy to bond with, whether you’re on stage, in the studio, or just playing at home. It comes complete with a shaped hard case, making it a solid option for both collectors and players looking for a reliable vintage Ibanez with real character and tone.
