Seller's description

Gretsch Historic Series G3140 Manufactured in Korea (1999–2003) – Translucent Orange Finish Serial Number: GP04013820 Up for consideration is an exceptional Gretsch Historic Series G3140—a semi-hollow arch-top crafted in South Korea by Peerless during the late 1990s to early 2000s (1999–2003). This particular guitar showcases a stunning translucent Orange finish and retains its original pickguard and protective hardshell case. Country of Origin & Heritage Built in Korea, prior to Fender’s acquisition of Gretsch in 2003, the Historic Series was designed to deliver vintage-inspired Gretsch tone and aesthetics at a more accessible price point. Constructed by the respected Peerless factory, these guitars are widely praised for their robust build quality and thoughtful design. Build & Technical Specifications Body configuration: Semi-hollow with a central block (similar to ES-335-style construction), combining warm resonance with feedback resistance Construction: Set neck design with rosewood fingerboard, half-moon inlays, and ivory-style binding Hardware & Pickups: Typically equipped with DeArmond Dynasonic 2000 single-coil pickups, which are slightly lower output than classic Dynasonics, yielding a brighter, cleaner voice Finish: Translucent Orange gloss that highlights the grain and wears gracefully over time Tone Profile Players often describe the G3140 as smooth and resonant, with excellent note separation and lively dynamics. The Dynasonic-style pickups deliver clarity and brightness, perfect for both clean tones and mild overdrive. The semi-hollow architecture adds warmth, depth, and a touch of acoustic character, making it highly expressive across genres ranging from jazz and blues to classic rock and country. Condition & Presentation This G3140 is in excellent condition, exhibiting: Very little visible play wear (virtually no fret wear) A comfortable playing action with an effortless feel under the fingers All original parts intact, including the pic
