The Gibson SG Zoot Suit Rainbow (2009) is an interesting variation on the classic SG design, combining Gibson's familiar styling and performance with a striking multi-coloured finish. Part of Gibson's more experimental range, the Zoot Suit features a distinctive layered wood construction that creates its characteristic striped appearance, with contrasting colours running through the body. Built using multiple layers of dyed wood, the body gives the guitar a colourful, textured appearance while retaining the feel associated with the SG. The traditional double-cutaway design provides excellent access to the upper frets, while the comfortable neck makes it well suited to both rhythm and lead playing. Equipped with Gibson humbucking pickups, the Zoot Suit delivers the powerful, full-bodied tones expected from an SG. The pickups offer plenty of output, sustain and definition, making it equally at home with classic rock, blues and heavier styles.
