The obvious visual pull is the Sonic Blue finish with double binding, which always looks classy, but the spec underneath is what really makes it. The flat lam rosewood board, dark-tint AAAA flame maple neck and parchment binding give it loads of vintage appeal, but Fender have paired that with a 9.50"-16" compound radius and a comfortable 60 Style Oval “C” carve, so it should feel much easier and more forgiving than a stricter old-school reissue. The Texas Special set also makes sense here, giving it a bit more push and attitude than a more polite vintage-voiced set. Overall it is a very tasteful Custom Shop build that blends classic custom-colour Tele looks with a more modern, usable playing spec. Condi
