Fender Telecaster Custom 1973 - Blond

From the listing

Seller's description

The neck, front pickup, and pots all date to 1974, marking this as a rare blonde-finished Telecaster Custom from that era. While the nut and frets—commonly replaced wear parts essential for playability—have been replaced, all other components remain original. With nearly 50 years of use, it shows typical signs of honest playwear, including buckle rash, edge paint chips, and slight discoloration, but overall it's in very good condition for a well-played vintage instrument. It’s clear this guitar was played with care, not abused. Tonally, the front humbucker offers a rich, full-bodied sound, while the rear single coil delivers a sharp, cutting tone. This contrast provides a broader tonal palette than a standard two-single-coil Telecaster. Despite being a humbucker, the front pickup avoids sounding overly heavy—it retains clarity, definition, and a strong presence, even when pushed into crunch. The frets have been replaced with wire close to the original spec, and the fingerboard surface, back of the neck, and back of the headstock have been refinished. Approximately 95% of the frets remain, and the neck is straight, with no signs of warping or twisting. The truss rod adjusts smoothly in both directions. The electronics are also in good working order, with no scratchy pots. 4.16kg Includes the original hard case. Nut and frets have been replaced.
