Seller's description

Description This 1973 Fender Stratocaster carries decades of honest playwear and provenance, having previously belonged to Ray Topping, a respected British music historian, archivist, and researcher known for his work with Ace Records and American post-war music. A genuine player-grade vintage Strat, it has naturally aged exactly as you would hope from a well-loved early-70s Fender. The original nitro finish has developed beautiful natural checking throughout, alongside areas of lacquer flaking and age-related wear that give the guitar a rich vintage character impossible to authentically replicate. The ageing across the body and neck reflects years of use, with the finish settling and weathering in a way collectors and players alike value highly. Aside from a replaced bridge pickup, the guitar remains original throughout, preserving the core feel, tone, and identity of the instrument. The replacement pickup blends seamlessly into the guitar’s naturally evolved character while the remaining original electronics and hardware retain the unmistakable response and resonance associated with vintage Stratocasters from this era. With its naturally worn finish, strong provenance, and unmistakably broken-in feel, this is the kind of vintage Strat that immediately feels alive in the hands — an authentic 1973 Fender with real history and personality. This instrument has been carefully inspected, professionally set up, and thoroughly tested by our in-house technician.
