Seller's description

Greetings - If you save this or put it in your cart, you'll receive a nice offer. Ck it out! This is a 1994/1995 Fender Precision Bass, in the rather rare "Squier" series. The info on these is documented and available by doing a search (not AI - please dig deeper for more accurate info!). This was produced before Fender started branding some of their instruments as Squier. The body and neck were actually produced in Corona, CA, then sent to Mexico for finishing and assembly. According to a previous VP of Fender (Keith Brawley) these necks and bodies are the exact same as the Fender "Standard" series instruments. They supposedly came with "lesser quality" hardware, but aside from the single-ply pickguard, I see no difference. Onward: I bought this hoping it was in good shape and I was pleasantly surprised. Aside from it being dirty/soiled, it has survived its 31 years pretty well. I think it sat for most of its life, accumulating dust/debris/oxidation, but really nothing that affected it in the long run. I pretty much disassembled it and cleaned/polished it up. I sprayed DeOxIt in the volume and tone pots and re-soldered a few of the joints that looked questionable. I also replaced the ground wire to the bridge. Painted the control cavity with some shielding paint and put some metal tape on the back of the pickguard, all to reduce 60 cycle hum. Turned out good. The truss rod adjusts beautifully and I have adjusted it with just a hint of relief in the neck. set up with a medium-low action and strung with a fresh set of DR Sunbeam strings. I had the intention of doing mods to this; different pickup, pots, bridge, pickguard and tuners....... but it is still in pretty amazing shape being all-stock. There are a few little cracks in the paint, but nothing too bad. I attempted to show these in the pics; hard to see. The paint has "darkened/yellowed" in areas over time and looks really cool. The neck is in great shape. Small dents from apparently leaning against something - se
