Seller's description

The Fender MIJ MG-69 Mustang in Candy Apple Red with competition stripe is a Japanese-made reissue that faithfully captures the look and feel of late-1960s Fender Mustangs. Built with an offset alder body and short 24-inch scale length, it delivers the comfortable playability and distinctive aesthetic that made the Mustang a favourite among alternative, indie, and punk players. The Candy Apple Red finish paired with the contrasting competition stripe gives it a bold, period-correct visual identity. The guitar features a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard and the classic Mustang vibrato system, allowing subtle pitch modulation while retaining tuning stability when set up correctly. Dual single-coil Mustang pickups provide a bright, punchy tone with clear articulation, controlled via the traditional slider switches that allow on/off and phase options for each pickup. This switching system adds a surprising range of tonal variation despite the guitar’s simple layout. Made in Japan, the MG-69 is known for its high build quality, consistent craftsmanship, and attention to vintage detail. It delivers the jangly cleans, raw edge, and responsive feel associated with original Mustangs while offering modern reliability, making it equally appealing as a player’s instrument or a well-regarded reissue for Fender enthusiasts.
