The suffix "-550" denotes the original retail price of the instrument in Japanese Yen at the time of release, which positioned it as a standard, highly reliable vintage reissue model utilizing premium domestic electronics paired with a traditional wood selection. True to 62 specs it includes the narrow 38mm nut width, a distinctively slim "Oval" neck profile, a vintage-correct 7.25-inch fretboard radius, and a distinct, external thin brass grounding strip that runs directly from the underside of the bridge plate straight into the cavity of the bridge pickup to suppress electrical noise.
