This Limited Edition American Professional Classic Telecaster pairs a traditional alder-body, maple-fingerboard Telecaster layout with Fender’s new Silent System. The passive, battery-free system is designed to suppress the hum normally associated with single-coil pickups while retaining their natural character, giving this 3-Color Sunburst Tele a particularly useful update for stage and studio work. A pair of Coastline ’63 Telecaster single-coils provides the foundation of the electronics. Fender voices these vintage-inspired pickups for the depth, punch and top-end sparkle associated with early-’60s Telecasters, while the Greasebucket tone system provides additional control without adding the low-end emphasis that can accompany a conventional tone control. The maple neck uses Fender’s Modern “C” profile with a satin urethane finish, 9.5" fingerboard radius and 22 medium jumbo frets. It’s a decidedly modern playing setup within an otherwise vintage-influenced design, complemented by a 25.5" scale length and 1.685" synthetic bone nut. Vintage-style details include a three-saddle string-through-body Tele bridge with slotted brass barrel saddles, staggered Fender ClassicGear tuners and a three-ply mint green pickguard. The alder body is finished in gloss urethane 3-Color Sunburst, balancing the model’s classic Telecaster appearance with its updated electronics and playability.
