Seller's description

1983 Fender Squier JV Jazz Bass – Olympic White – Rare Vintage MIJ Offered for sale is a highly sought-after 1983 Fender Squier JV (Japanese Vintage) Jazz Bass in the increasingly rare Olympic White finish. This instrument is part of the legendary JV series, produced during Fender Japan's golden era and widely celebrated for its exceptional build quality, vintage-accurate specifications, and tonal integrity. This particular example is in very good condition for its age, with some minor chips and dings consistent with honest playwear, but clearly well cared-for throughout its life. It has been professionally set up, with smooth action and excellent playability. The frets show minimal wear, and the neck feels fast and comfortable—true to the classic '60s Jazz Bass profile. These early JV instruments, built at the renowned FujiGen Gakki factory, are prized for their attention to detail and faithful reproductions of vintage Fender models. The JB-62 model, as seen here, is a meticulous reissue of the 1962 Jazz Bass, featuring period-correct appointments including: Slim "C" profile maple neck with a rosewood fretboard 7.25" fretboard radius and vintage-style frets Dual single-coil pickups delivering classic punch and clarity Vintage-style reverse tuners and threaded saddle bridge Full-sized alder body (unlike later MIJ models that sometimes used basswood) JV serial number on the neck plate The Olympic White finish is one of the rarer color options from this era, particularly when combined with the tortoiseshell pickguard seen here, adding an extra layer of collectability to an already desirable instrument. These early JV series basses were only produced for a brief period between 1982 and 1984 and have since become highly collectible due to their superior craftsmanship and historical significance in Fender’s lineage. Many collectors and players consider them to rival, or even surpass, their American-made counterparts of the time. Included in the sale is a high
