The Fender John 5 Signature J5 Triple Telecaster Deluxe in black is a solid-body electric guitar built on an expanded Telecaster platform designed for high-output, multi-voicing performance. It uses an alder body with a gloss black finish, a bolt-on maple neck with a modern C profile, a 25.5-inch scale length, and a 9.5-inch radius fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets. The hardware includes a vintage tremolo bridge and sealed tuning machines, providing stable tuning and strong string resonance. The body shape remains Telecaster-based but is modified to accommodate a more aggressive pickup layout and stage-orientated design choices associated with John 5's performance requirements. The electronics feature a three-pickup configuration with a combination of single-coil and humbucking-style voices depending on the switching position. The control layout uses a multi-position selector system that enables a wide range of tones, from sharp Tele-style bridge articulation to thicker, higher-output combinations suitable for modern rock and metal applications.
