Seller's description

Very cool old 50’s Reissue Tele now available. This one has an Order Made stamp on the neck heel and a pencil date of 18/04/91. Order Made were small runs or individual guitars made for guitar stores and individuals in Japan, and often featured non-catalogue specs. This one has slotted screws all round, a proper Bakelite guard and a very slim oval neck, which is unusual for a TL52. The bridge has individual saddles, and the pickups look to be Fender US (most likely TL Vintage) as indicated by the white cloth wire. It’s definitely got some wear - the fretboard lacquer has worn away at the upper part of the neck, and there are plenty of dings and marks everywhere. Nevertheless it plays great, with a low action and the classic Tele twang. Body construction is ash. The Bakelite guard has started off-gassing, so there’s a bit of a funk to it and it’s slightly warped at the upper edge. It comes with a period correct MIJ white guard should you want to swap it out, or you can pick up a replacement Bakelite guard from Northwest for £15.
