Seller's description

VINTAGE CUSTOM Fender Custom Shop Vintage Custom series instruments represent early, almost prototypical, transitional and “first rev” versions of classic Fender models before they were refined into their present-day form. Featuring a few subtle modifications for enhanced playability and tone, some models incorporate prototypical features that barely saw the light of day while others have rarely seen transitional parts combinations that may have been used during the instrument’s development. All of the Vintage Custom models feature our “Time Capsule” aging package. Combining our original “No Buff” NOS Flash Coat Lacquer finish with Closet Classic hardware, the Time Capsule package grants these instruments the charming appearance, authentic sound and genuine mojo of an extremely lucky vintage find. MORE ABOUT VINTAGE CUSTOM ‘59 HARDTAIL STRAT® 1959 saw the advent of several important feature changes to the Stratocaster® including a slab rosewood fingerboard with clay position dots, a three-ply mint green pickguard with 8, 9 or 10 screws depending on the month it was built, and a metal spacer added to the string tree.
