Fender Custom Shop 1961 Jazz Bass Heavy Relic - Faded Aged Daphne Blue Step up to the stage with an instrument that carries the soul of a revolution. Originally introduced at the dawn of the 1960s, the Jazz Bass quickly became an irreplaceable icon, anchoring the rhythm sections for legends ranging from Jaco Pastorius to John Paul Jones. This Fender Custom Shop 1961 Jazz Bass Heavy Relic masterfully captures that initial lightning in a bottle, delivering a world-class rhythm machine that looks, feels, and resonates like a prized vintage instrument that has spent the last sixty years touring the globe. The foundational magic of this bass lies in its premium tonewood selection, utilizing a masterfully contoured two-piece select body paired with an incredibly stable quartersawn maple neck. The neck sports a period-correct 1960s "U" profile, a flat-laminated 3A rosewood fingerboard, and a stunning matching painted headstock unique to this classic finish, ensuring a smooth, tactile playing experience that channels the golden era of bass design. Dressed in a gorgeous Heavy Relic lacquer finish, the instrument features authentic wear, dings, and discolored hardware that evoke the raw energy of decades spent on the road. Plug it in, and the bass truly comes alive thanks to a pair of Custom Shop hand-wound vintage Jazz Bass pickups. Wired to period-correct stacked concentric volume and tone controls, this setup grants you independent mastery over each pickup's sonic footprint. Whether you are searching for a warm, pillowy low-end thump or that signature growling midrange bite, this exceptional recreation provides the ultimate playground for discerning bass players looking to leave their own mark on musical history.
