Fender American Ultra Telecaster in Ultraburst. The Ultra line is Fender's top-of-the-range production series, the one aimed at players who want a Telecaster that plays like a modern instrument instead of a museum piece. What actually separates it from a Professional or a vintage reissue: Compound-radius fingerboard, 10" to 14". Rounder down at the nut where you form chords, flatter up top where you bend. It is the single biggest playability upgrade in the line and it is very hard to go back once you have lived with it. Modern D neck profile with Ultra Satin finish and rolled fingerboard edges. The neck feels broken in out of the box, no sticky gloss drag. Ultra Noiseless Vintage pickups. Full Tele voice, spank at the bridge and warmth at the neck, with the hum engineered out. You can stand next to a lighting rig and it stays quiet. S-1 switch on the volume knob, which puts the two pickups in series for a thicker, louder, almost humbucker-adjacent tone. A genuinely useful fourth sound rather than a gimmick. Sculpted heel for real upper-fret access, and locking tuners. Ultraburst is the Ultra series' own take on a three-tone sunburst, with a lighter and more amber-forward center than the traditional version.
