The new Fender American Ultra II Telecaster in Texas Tea is here! The reimagined American Ultra II series is the cutting edge of the Fender Product Line! Quite frankly, the Ultra Series was exceptionally impressive. The Ultra II ups the ante with some fresh colors, new pickups, modern hardware, and the most playable instruments ever offered by Fender. The body of the Ultra II Tele may be their most comfortable yet. It has an extra smooth and deep tummy cut so it hugs your ribcage perfectly. The radius of the edges of the guitar is softer than on the vintage models so it doesn't have quite as hard of an edge on it. The reduced and contoured neck heel makes playing at even the 22nd fret easy. Clearly, comfort comes 1st with the Ultra II. The neck of the Ultra II is made from Quartersawn Maple, a stiffer, more rigid cut of lumber that helps a neck resist shifting temperature and humidity. The profile itself feels similar to the original Ultra Series Neck as do the compound fingerboard radius (10"-14"), ultra-rolled fingerboard edges, and medium jumbo frets. A cool new touch is Luminlay Side Dot Inlays that glow in the dark, an exceptionally handy feature on a dark stage/room! The face dots are made of White Pearloid Dots and do not glow, for a traditional look. The fingerboard itself is made of Ebony and has White Pearloid Dot Fingerboard inlays. New Ultra II Pickups come on all new Ultra Models. The latest iteration of Fender's Noiseless Pickups, these humbuckers in the size of single-coils maintain their Tele-Tones in all positions but with none of the 60 cycle hum. The Ultra II features an S-1 switch that turns on Series Mode, a powerful, thick, fat tone similar to a neck position P-90.  And you know they had to make them look cool!
