The Fender American Professional Jazz Bass arrived in late 2016 as the replacement for the long-running American Standard series, bringing a handful of smart modern updates while keeping the classic Jazz Bass formula intact.Finished in classic 3-Color Sunburst, this USA-made Jazz features an alder body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. The slim Modern “C” neck profile and 20 narrow-tall frets give it a comfortable, familiar feel, while the Posiflex graphite neck reinforcement adds a little extra stability.A pair of V-Mod single-coil Jazz Bass pickups deliver everything you want from a good Jazz Bass – plenty of punch and definition, a warm rounded neck pickup and that unmistakable bridge-pickup growl. The traditional two-volume and master-tone controls keep things simple and versatile.Fender also fitted the American Professional with its HiMass Vintage bridge, which can be strung through the body or top-loaded, along with fluted-shaft tuners and a bone nut.A great example of Fender getting the balance right between old and new.
