The Fender 75th Anniversary American Vintage II 1951 Precision Bass celebrates the instrument that forever changed the role of bass in modern music. Introduced in 1951, the Precision Bass was the world’s first widely adopted electric bass, giving players the power, clarity, and portability that upright basses simply couldn’t provide. This limited-edition anniversary model honors that legacy with a resonant ash body finished in classic Butterscotch Blonde nitrocellulose lacquer, showcasing the wood’s beautiful grain while allowing the instrument’s natural tone to breathe and resonate. At the heart of the bass is the 75th Anniversary Pure Vintage ’51 Precision single-coil pickup, specially voiced to recreate the foundational thump and clarity that helped define early electric bass tone. Built using period-correct materials such as cloth-covered wire, fiber bobbins, and alnico magnets, the pickup delivers a direct, articulate sound that sits perfectly in a mix. Paired with stainless steel flatwound strings and traditional volume and tone controls, the result is the warm, focused voice that made the Precision Bass the backbone of countless recordings. Vintage-correct details complete the experience, including a one-piece maple neck with a substantial 1951 “U” profile and a comfortable 7.25-inch radius fingerboard that captures the feel of Fender’s earliest basses. A Pure Vintage two-saddle bridge with fiber saddles, reverse open-gear tuners, and a classic tug bar reinforce the instrument’s authentic early-’50s design, while the included pickup and bridge covers add to its unmistakable vintage look. Delivered in a vintage-style tweed hardshell case with crushed red interior and accompanied by a
