The Carl Martin Purple Moon Vintage Fuzz 'N Vibe combines two effects that were made famous in the late 1960s, fuzz and vibe, in a single compact pedal, and this example is supplied with its original box and booklets. The combination evokes the era when fuzz-driven guitar lines were paired with the sweeping, phaser-like character of the vintage vibe units, a pairing particularly associated with psychedelic rock. The Purple Moon offers controls for Depth, Speed, and Level for the vibe section, together with a mini Fuzz control and a Fuzz Level control for the fuzz section. The depth control is positioned at the top edge of the pedal, allowing it to be adjusted with the side of the foot. When the fuzz gain is turned all the way down, the pedal functions as a vibe-only effect. The vibe section cannot be switched off independently, so the pedal is designed around the interplay of the two effects rather than as two separate units. The pedal runs on a nine-volt battery or a nine-volt DC power supply, and a regulated power supply is recommended for optimum response.
