Seller's description

The 1999 PRS Custom 22 in Ruby Red with moon inlays and a hardtail bridge is a standout example of Paul Reed Smith's craftsmanship during a period when the brand was solidifying its reputation for high-quality, versatile instruments. This model features a carved maple top over a mahogany body, delivering a rich tonal palette with pronounced midrange warmth and clarity. The Ruby Red finish offers a visually striking appearance that complements its sonic capabilities. The guitar is equipped with a mahogany neck and a rosewood fretboard adorned with PRS's distinctive moon inlays, a design element that was more prevalent before bird inlays became the standard. The 25-inch scale length and 22 frets provide a familiar feel for those accustomed to PRS instruments, facilitating smooth playability across various styles. Electronics-wise, the 1999 Custom 22 is fitted with PRS humbuckers, known for their balanced output and versatility, suitable for genres ranging from blues to hard rock. The hardtail bridge enhances sustain and tuning stability, making it a preferred choice for players who prioritise these aspects over the flexibility of a tremolo system. Overall, this model represents a blend of aesthetic beauty and functional design, appealing to both collectors and performing musicians.
