1990 Fender Japan ’62 Precision Bass Reissue (PB62) 3-Tone Sunburst, FujiGen, MIJ, P-BassHere’s a superb, clean and completely original example of a FujiGen-made Fender Japan ’62 Precision Bass Reissue, finished in a vibrant 3-Tone Sunburst and featuring a beautifully dark rosewood fretboard paired with a tortoiseshell pickguard.A proper P-Bass in every sense, and one that really tells the story of these early Fender Japan instruments. The fit and finish on these FujiGen-made guitars and basses is second to none, while the quality and choice of rosewood used on the fretboard is something that would be difficult to find on many modern equivalents today — including US-built examples.Completely original throughout, this Precision dates to 1990, confirmed by the serial number, pot codes and the pencil date at the base of the neck, which reads 4-5-90.Condition-wise, this one is excellent. There are no breaks or repairs, and the bass is 100% functional throughout.Cosmetically, it presents extremely well, with only a handful of light surface marks and minor indents (pictured), all consistent with a well-cared-for and well-preserved instrument.The neck and fretboard follow suit, showing little to no appreciable wear, with all frets retaining plenty of life. The nut measures 42mm, while the fretboard features a vintage-spec 7 1/4" radius, 34" scale length and a comfortable medium C-profile.The electronics function exactly as they should, operating seamlessly throughout.
