From the listing
Up for sale, a 1984 Fender Telecaster ‘72 vintage reissue model TL72-55 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. An early Fender Japan model with an A-prefix serial number produced at the Fujigen factory and offered only in the Japanese domestic market, this TL72 is uncommon outside its country of origin. Tonewoods include an ash body and a one-piece maple neck, and this guitar has a bold natural acoustic quality with great treble snap and midrange oomph; qualities faithfully captured by the pickup pair. The alnico magnet single coils deliver focused, gutsy twang in the bridge position and a smooth percussive cut at the neck. Weighing 8lbs 9oz, this Telecaster TL72-55 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-52 strings, low action, and accurate intonation. Neck Specs: Wood: Maple Shape: Slender C, measuring .820” 1st fret, .915” 12th fret Fretboard: Maple, vintage-spec 7 1/4” radius Frets: Slender, no wear Scale Length: 25 ½” Nut: 1.650" (42mm), bone Tuners: Gotoh Serialization: “Made in Japan,” A-prefix (neck plate) Body Specs: Wood: Ash Pickups: TL-Vintage single coil x2 Controls: Volume, Tone, three-way pickup selector Harness: Full-size Japanese pots date to September, 1984 Hardware: “Pat. Pend” bridge with steel barrel saddles, flat-top knurled knobs Plastics: Three-ply black pickguard, “top hat” switch tip The gloss Black finish has one chip of note just above the neck plate, pick scuffing on top, and some minor dings and finish scratches. The gloss on the neck profile is smooth and fast-feeling, with a few shallow nicks that are not distracting to the palm while fretting. A modern Fender-branded padded gigbag is included.
