The Gibson Custom L-5 S was released by Gibson as a smaller, thin solid body counterpart to their popular L-5 Hollowbody model, featuring ornate binding throughout, a 3-ply solid Maple body, a 5-piece Maple neck, an Ebony fingerboard adorned with Abalone block inlays, and the L-5 "Flower Pot" headstock inlay. This ’74 example is super clean overall and comes equipped with a replaced nut and bridge. It retains its original tuners, with a visible footprint from a previously installed set for a bit of honest, used character. It plays great with a comfortable feel and produces a warm, rich sound from the original Tarbacks. This design was appreciated by jazz and fusion folks like Pat Martino and John McLaughlin and was even seen on stage with the Stones. Reach out for more details on this Norlin-era beauty!
