From the listing
Up for sale, a 1972 Fender Telecaster Bass in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. A first-year example of the second iteration of the Telecaster Bass produced from 1972-79, this bass features a Seth Lover-designed Wide Range humbucker in the neck position and an ash body. Notably lightweight at only 8lbs 5oz and well-balanced on a strap, the slab string through body yields the midrange complexity and punch of ash with the articulate note attack of maple. The Seth Lover-designed Wide Range humbucker in the neck position dishes out particularly thick subwoofer heft, round and full-bodied, with a certain throaty pluck with the foam mute (on the underside of the bridge cover). This Telecaster Bass has been freshly strung with 45-100 roundwound strings, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with easy-playing action and accurate intonation.Neck Specs:Wood: MapleShape: Medium U, measuring .855” 1st fret, .950” 12th fretFretboard: Maple, 7 ¼” radiusFrets: Medium jumbo, no wearScale Length: 34Nut: 1 5/8”, boneTuners: Clover buttons, “Fender”-stampedSerialization: Six-digit stamp (neck plate)Factory Markings: Neck heel date stamped Dec, ‘72Body Specs:Wood: AshPickups: Wide Range humbucker (1972 date stamp on baseplate)Controls: Volume, Tone Harness: CTS pot dates to ‘72 (replacement Volume pot)Hardware: Two-saddle bridge with cover (new foam mute), flat-top knurled knobsPlastics: Three-ply pickguard (added thumb rest mounting holes), “tug bar” finger restThe gloss Blonde finish is 100% original with no touch-up or overspray, with light buckle rash on the back at the waist and a few small dings along the lower bout perimeter.
