The 1971 Gibson Les Paul Standard 1954/58 Reissue is a fascinating and comparatively rare early-1970s Les Paul, built during a period when Gibson briefly revisited the construction and simplicity of its original 1950s Goldtop design. Although historically marketed as a ’58 Reissue, the specification is much closer to a 1954 Les Paul Standard, combining a mahogany body with carved maple top, one-piece mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, P-90 pickup configuration and wraparound-style bridge design. This particular example has been fitted with a pair of Seymour Duncan P90 pickups. The tuners, jackplate and bridge have also been changed, while the remaining hardware is original. This vintage Gibson is in Good condition, weighs an actual 9.4 lbs, and includes a hardcase.
