Seller's description

A slim 4 years into production, this is a 1966 Gibson Dove in stunning Natural. Longer scale length and maple back and sides make the Dove a ride well and truly worth taking in my opinion, and as of now..I reckon this would be my favourite acoustic in the shop. The Tune-O-Matic sometimes gets a bad rep, but I reckon there are a lot of fine records made with a stock Dove acoustic sounding as pretty as you like. Maple back and sides and a Spruce top..lovely combination. Like many of these 60s Gibson acoustics, some changes have happened over time. Firstly, the bridge has had some reinforcement with glue. There have been some small cracks repaired around the soundhole. Yes this is the 1 9/16ths nut width..it doesn't bother me, and if it bothers you, then we have a 1965 wide nut Dove for sale at the moment. There has been a small hole repaired (jack) near the bottom bout, nice job and quite hard to see (pickup was installed at some point with the jack down bottom. Freshly set up and I imagine that this will still be kicking about in another 60 years from now. This is a smooth, warm, beautiful acoustic made in Kalamazoo, I dig it, and I reckon you will too. The Dove is smiling at you. Made in the USA and comes with the original purple lined case. Original case handle has been replaced with a hand carved bit of folk art handle..kinda cool. SN 858758
