Seller's description

It's hard to imagine a cooler example! Here we have a very cool 1964 Fender Precision Bass, finished in Sunburst with the perfect worn-in look. The worn Sunburst finish/tortoiseshell pickguard combo makes for an iconic looking instrument that oozes vintage character. The neck has a lovely worn-in feel and sits very comfortably in the hand. It measures 43.7mm at the nut, with a depth of 20.8mm at the 1st fret and 25.4mm at the 12th, giving it that familiar pre-CBS Precision feel with enough depth to feel reassuring without being cumbersome. At 3.86kg it's a comfortable weight, and  overall it has an excellent resonance to it. It's had some electrical work, with changed pots and wiring. The pickup has period-correct plain enamel #42 wire, but the solder eyelet has been disturbed on the bass side and some wiring replaced, suggesting a repair or possible rewind. Tonally, it has the depth, punch and attack you want from an old Precision Bass. There is plenty of fundamental low end, a strong midrange and that direct, slightly woody attack that makes these basses sit so well in a track. There's a reason these are the go-to for so many, and this example is no exception! All in all, a very appealing player-grade 1964 Fender Precision Bass with a fantastic look and plenty of pre-CBS character. The bass comes complete with its correct no-logo, orange lined, black Fender hard case.
