Seller's description

A charming 1957 Gibson LG-2 3/4, finished in Sunburst and offering a wonderfully characterful small-bodied Gibson acoustic voice. The LG-2 3/4 is a lovely short-scale take on Gibson’s classic small-body formula. Compact, comfortable and full of vintage charm, these guitars have a voice and feel all of their own, with a dry, direct response that makes them great fun to play. This example presents well overall, with the main condition points being overspray to the back and a repaired, cleated crack, also to the back. The finish elsewhere appears correct, and the guitar retains a nicely aged Sunburst look with plenty of period character. Construction features include a solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides, rosewood fingerboard, correct bridge and maple bridge plate. The top is ladder braced, giving the guitar a focused, immediate voice with plenty of attack and midrange character. Hardware and appointments are nicely in keeping with the model, including the correct tortoiseshell teardrop pickguard. Tonally, this is a very appealing little Gibson: woody, dry and articulate, with a quick response and a characterful old-school voice. The smaller body gives it an intimate feel, but it still has plenty of personality and projection for fingerpicking, bluesy strumming and rootsy acoustic work.
