This wonderful Fender Custom Shop guitar was picked out by our General Manager, Andy Gough. It is a Custom Shop 1960 Telecaster Journeyman Relic in Purple Sparkle. The photos in the ad are actual photos of the one you will get and the guitar weighs in at 7 pounds, 5.46 ounces. The Fender Limited-edition ’60 Telecaster may be inspired by the popular Fenders of yesteryear, but this guitar packs a not-quite-so-vintage-correct secret under the hood — a scorching set of Texas-style hand-wound Custom Shop pickups! This axe’s Custom Shop hand-wound Texas Special Telecaster pickups boast an output and tenacity ready to blow any mild-mannered single-coil out of the water. To match these modernized pickups, the Limited-edition ’60 Telecaster Journeyman Relic’s rift-sawn maple neck is topped with a fast-playing 9.5-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard that’s host to 21 sleek narrow tall frets for effortless playability. On the opposite end, the lightweight 2-piece alder body gives you all the resonance and sustain of a Fender Custom Shop creation, complete with an old-school ’60s Tele bridge for ample twang. Designed with one foot in the past and one foot in the future, the Fender Limited-edition ’60 Telecaster Journeyman Relic epitomizes classic looks and modern performance. The Fender Custom Shop Limited-edition ’60 Telecaster Journeyman Relic is more than simply a sonic tribute to the greatest Teles of the past — this guitar’s well-worn nitrocellulose relic finish gives you the instantly “broken-in” feel that’s so common among the most venerable of vintage instruments. From the battle scars on the select 2-piece alder body to the thinned-away finish on the maple neck, vintage fanatics love how this guitar captures every aesthetic detail of a true golden-age classic. There’s a reason why the “C” profile neck has served as the standardFender neck shape for decades — it’s simply a great middle-ground neck style that all types of players have come to love. That being said,
